seems like the WWDC is slowing waiting for review times

Why would that affect the review times?

The reviewers aren't doing anything related to WWDC.

But the review times are slowing down. :(

They do have App Store labs that the Reviewers participate in during WWDC.

A Fortune 500 company, with over 150 Billion in cash, and they can't hire a few more people for that?!
  • haupmanhaupman Posts: 14New Users *
With that reasoning they could have shortened review times greatly over the past few years.

My app for to in review and an hour later, I got notification that my app would require additional review time. From your experience, what does that mean? Should I prepare myself for rejection?

    Could you elaborate

Did you use copyrighted material or trademarks anywhere in your app?

That's one that will trigger the extra review time, because the reviewer will pass it on to Apple's legal dept.

Another one I have seen... Apple's review process is so backed up, that they will send you this message as a courtesy, to let you know they are a bit slow on the reviews. That should be no problem for you.

No. Everything I did I supplied myself or used public domain images and names.
  • dev666999dev666999 Posts: 3,613New Users @ @ @ @ @
OK... but I assume you know that everything on the web is not public domain.

There are developers on this board who use for example..."Hello Kitty" images and trademarked names, and claim, everyone else is doing it, so why can't I.

Surprisingly, Apple hasn't shut them down... yet.

I'm not saying you're doing this, but something like that can trigger a delayed review.

Just said it wrong, you always should be prepared for App rejection ;-)

I had this once and it doesn't necessarily has to do something with legal issues. They asked me some simple standard questions, I answered them and after an hour it got released.

So far it has been an hour since they sent this email and nothing else at all to follow-up. Just nervous cause on vacation until Saturday and no computer with me to change anything.

for my update it is 9 days still waiting! I'm checking app review times on twitter. How come some people get 3 days 2, 1 day waiting and some get 9 days?

They like to keep the average down so once in a while they'll do a 1 or 2 day one.

Right there, is large company 'thinking' ; Meeting targets in a way that avoids the purpose of the target in the first place whilst patting themselves on the back.

11 days in, just went into review, anxiously awaiting the inevitable rejection for XYZ arbitrary reason!

10 days in, it seems everyone was affected somehow, I always release one update per week and they consistently "review" it 7 days after I upload.

I think it might have something to do with the keynote next week... Maybe their operations are slower in preparation for that

Their entire process is complete garbage. I understand a human review for a new submission, but updates should be automated.

Love their products, but Apple's bureaucracy is complete shit.

Given a developer could swap in a completely new/different app in an update, if you understand that a human is required for a new submission then you should understand that a human is required for updates too.

At least they seem to apply less scrutiny over time as successive successful updates of the same app seem to get through review easier and easier, at least in our experience.
