Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. Time Zone of "Ready for Sale" Email Server??

raymngraymng Posts: 763Registered Users
I wonder what is the Time Zone of the "Your application status is Ready for Sale" email server??

As you all know, when we receive the Ready for Sale email, we need to update the Availability Date to the date we receive this email.

But my time zone is GMT+8, how can I make sure I set to the current date of US App Store??

Thanks.
:confused::confused:

    I'd go by Apple's timezone (GMT -8).

P.S - I wasnt aware of the fact that we have to change the availability date. Would that place the app in the "Just Released" list?)

Well, you don't have to change the date, but as you suspected, it's what you should do to show up in the top of the lists sorted by release date. If you don't change the date, your app will be listed with the date chosen when you submitted it. If you change the date to the date of your approval email, your app will be sorted based on the approval date.

NOTE: you can't pick any date - it has to be the date of the approval from Apple, otherwise the app will still be sorted by the date you chose when you first submitted it.

This also applies to app updates.

GMT-8, is it Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone? So it should be GMT-7 now??

The problem is you can't set a date back in time...so by the time we (non us devs) get the emails we are often a day ahead. Confuses me everytime...as often I get the emails in the middle of the next morning.

Yes, you CAN set to a date back in time. I've done it on several occasions when it wasn't until a day later that I got around to reading my email. Obviously, you loose a little bit of visibility since there was a day not on the top of the recently released list, but it's better to adjust the date even if it is a day late than keep the date of when you submitted the app.

You just have to make sure you set the date to the date of the approval email. Setting it to any other date will not work.

well with my last few updates I haven't been able to put the date back further than today's date! Strange.

This is not exactly true. You can set it to the date of the email or any date AFTER that, as the release date displayed in the App Store is the earlier of the date that the last update was approved or the release date listed in iTunes connect. So as long as the date in ITC is not earlier than the email date, you are OK.

Where exactly do you update the release date once the app is out of review and ready for sale?

is that field only available to edit once the app is approved?

    Thanks

EDIT: Oh, is it just Availability Date : under the pricing tab?
