Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
Am I allowed to use other applications' icons within my app?
I've noticed that there are several apps on the market today that contain the icons of other apps. I'm talking about apps such as the ones that list the free apps of the day, or the top apps etc with the apps icon. I'm developing an app that deals directly with other apps and my question is if I would be allowed to do the same or if there is a process to get consent.
I think if you get the data from the iTunes RSS Generator, Apple - iTunes - RSS Generator, you are probably OK. I imagine this is how most apps that list top free apps work.
If you are getting the icon directly to show that you work with another app, you probably need permission from the app's owner. But there's a lot of gray area in between depending on what you are doing with the icon.
Allowed by whom? If the other app developer gets ticked off about it, he could complain to Apple that you're infringing on his trademark.
Legally, I would guess that you're using it in an editorial context, which makes it fair use. But it would still cost you a bucket of money to prove it.

Moral of story: don't tick anyone off.
