Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
Im about to upload a couple of iPhone apps and just had a question of what an average free app makes over a year. It an app that isn't already on the app store with nothing like it. There is not a high demand for it as well.
If anyone had an idea of what a free app could make during a year i would be much appreciative.

$0.
Or did you mean an average free app with IAP? Or in-app ads? Or affiliate links? I'm not sure anybody would have those statistics, but you may be able to collect some anecdotal evidence, whatever that's worth to you.
There's so many variables to it, I'm not even sure how anybody could venture as to guess how much an app would make without knowing anything about it.

How much does a thing weigh? Or how long does a project take? How long is a road on average? How tall is a structure on average? How many cells are there in a living organism on average?
Notice I just listed a bunch of questions with answers that vary greatly in minimums and maximums. Knowing the averages of the questions I asked above would have very little value in most circumstances. Your question is in the same class. An app can make a billion dollars in a year. Or it can make $0. I reckon yours will be closer to the latter.
You will make as much as you want to make... depending on the about of work you put into it... unfortunately these days your won't make much by just posting your app in the app store

No need to be sarcastic when answering someone's question

Seriously, if you're referring to the median app, the answer has to be vanishingly close to $0. The average might be skewed upward by the fact that the top 10 apps make a whole lot of money.
probably a better question might be: what is the average annual income for a first time app, created by a hobbiest developer, working alone. And the answer to that is probably about $34.
my guess is that very few people hit it big with their first app.

maybe median. average highly unlikely to be that low.

If you say there's not much demand for it, then you're not looking at very much revenue. It might get lost in the app store.
