Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
Nice post, and I think your service is a good idea. I'd actually be especially interested in having videos of the reviewers using the app - in particular, I'd like to see them using it for the first time.
Paul you are great !! I'm actually in the process of adding the feature, so it's absolutely wonderful to hear you suggest that !
Technically speaking it looks feasible: - since this would request deep involvment/time/reliability from the reviewers, I was planning to hand-pick the best reviewers and propose them to become video reviewers (the beta-testers are also hand picked among the best reviewers). - My idea is to offer screencasts of 2 times 5 minutes sessions: 1) first session will be "right off the box", meaning just after installation of the app, while discovering the app for the first time 2) second sessions will be once the app is matered, so that the reviewers can make comments and make live suggestions. - regarding the pricing: since the reviewers will have to buy a $15 app on their Mac in order to mirror the iDevice and I assess the review time to be around 30 minutes totally, I plan to propose this service at around $75 for 3 reviews (including my margin).
What do you think about that?

It sounds good, except I would probably want to see a video recording of them using it rather than a screen capture. They could just shoot the video with their iPhone or whatever, but I want to see if they miss touch targets and how they hold the device, etc.
I recommend adding AppViz 2 to your "How to follow-up my sales and rankings day after day?" section.
@headkaze: Thanks for mentionning I've never used it so far. Can you indicate if it's better or equal to Appfigures and AppAnnie according to your experience and why ?

@Paul: I think it's very easy to use a mirroring tool (like Reflection) then the tricky part is about screecasting (even if there are free easy tools for that) and also there wouldn't be any problem with privacy in case the users film their kids (many developers ask us review for education apps).
I understand your point though but I see 2 problems: - how to film, in practical terms: the user will use iDevice 1 to test the app and iDevice2 (or camera device 2) in order to film => most users won't know where to put the iDevice 2 to get a good result I fear. - how to send the video from device 2 to my server? If I ask reviewers to upload to a big website (like youtube) it means they have to create an account and deal with privacy settings, then I'll have to find a way to download the result to my server which might be messy...
What do you think ? Would you still be interested by "read aloud test" with screencast version? So far the devs to whom I introduced the idea were excited about it, but none had proposed what you described (which would be much better if I could find an easy way).

I've recorded quite a few videos myself, and I found it to be quite easy. You can rubber-band your iPhone to something to use as a camera stand. Or you can put the phone on the edge of a table, and put the device your filming on a shorter table or chair below it. You can make a really nice looking video this way and it's really easy to set up.

Don't you have the same problem with a screencast? If I were doing it, I'd probably just include a web-interface for reviewers to upload the video file directly to my server, and then pass the file along to the client to download and view.
I would probably still be interested in the review service without this though.

All the data is stored on your own computer + only one license to purchase no matter how many apps you have

I think I'll start with a miroring software, then if some reviewers tell me they are able to, then I'll add the "real life video" feature :D

Actually, I plan that once reviewers made their screencast and save them on their hard drive, they can upload them to the server via a web-interface (that's what developers currently do to upload their app for "over the air" ad hoc installation). But if you have the video on your iDevice, I'm not sure if you can use these "browse" feature of a web browser to upload a film.

@Rudy: OK, thanks for mentionning. Getting the data stored on my hard-drive isn't interesting to me since I use 3 different computers. However a single price for illimited number of apps sounds interesting to me. I also need to "daily e-mail summary" feature. Does AppViz have it?

It doesnt email you since it's an app that you run manually on your own pc
