Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
I have a question on paying taxes. I live and work in Austria (freelance teacher) and pay my taxes here. I have developed an app and I have a set up in business registered as a sole proprietor here. I already handle my own tax returns. I know that I have to declare every sale and pay income tax on each one. However, how does it work with sales tax (aka VAT)? If you buy a book in a store, you pay x% of sales tax on that purchase, right? The shop keeps a record of all it's expenses and all it's income, then does the maths and either pays the sales tax or claims it back. This I understand.
So does Apple do the same? On the 99USD cent tier does that price include sales tax? And when Apple remits the 70% to me do I have to bill them and include the 20% Austrian sales tax on that bill?
I know that here in Austria if my turnover is less than 30,000EUR I do not have to register for sales tax. But that also means I can't claim any back, and given that the app cost 4000EUR plus 20% sales tax to develop, obviously I want to claim that 20% back. So I will register.
Also, how does it work for sales outside of Austria? Does Apple just take care of all this stuff or should I do something?
