Are these sales good?

I'm just a 13 year old developer and i released my app about 3-4 weeks ago and so far it made about $700 with no promotion besides to my friends. Tell me on a scale of 1-10, 1 being bad 10 being great, how would you rate these sales?

Did you tell your parents, that they have extra 10k/year to report on taxes?

Anyway, for 13yo $700/month is quite decent - e.g. 9 (remember, many apps doesn't bring back $100 membership fee)

700$ for 3-4 weeks isn't bad at all! That's a lot better than most people do especially with no promotion.
It's hard to rate it on a scale of 1-10, depends on a few factors.
How long you worked on it (but you also have to take into account that you learned a lot from doing the app which is useful)
How much you need the money...I don't know about you but when I was 13 having 700$/month from an app would of been awesome! Now 700$/month for me isn't enough but hey I would still take it!
Kind of the same as the last one, but how much you were expecting on making from it. If you were expecting like 50$ then made 700$ i'd rate that a 10!

I would rate it a 7...but that could be different to everyone.

What does that mean? I understand taxes but why do they have to report that much?

Yea its great but i was expecting like $10. It took about 3 weeks to make but i like to slack off a lot.

Money earned by you on app sales are ordinarily income. Extrapolating $700/month to full year getting around $10k of family income.

Deduct expenses ($100 paid to apple, computer, etc) to lower it down.

If it took you 3 weeks to make a game while slacking off and you made 700$/month. I would definitely say those are great sales for a first app.

Although if by your "friends" you mean your entire school of 1000+ people and 700 of them bought it, then not as good :p but hey you still have their money!

I hope you didn't make something like a pokemon app, but other than that... Pretty good for a 13 yo. It pays more than my KFC job when I was 15

I filed a 1040EZ when I was youthful. :P I suggest you have your parents help you do the same. Although, If you get 1099, it prob doesn't count. And also you probably signed up with your parents name.

Anyways. That's pretty good for the first month, but your spike will drop into the long tail shortly. Use your momentum and come up with more apps. Make the next one better.

thats preety good. good job on it. just keep improving and never give up development! and even if u feel its not enough money, the fact that u developed something and its in the app store will look really good on ur resume when u try to get a job after college.
