I am the Chief Technology Officer for Digital Media Interactive (http://www
[-dot-] dmi1011 [-dot-] com) and currently the lead programmer for all of our iOS and Android development projects. We have been developing apps for about two years with a small and efficient team. See some of our current titles here: Connecting to the iTunes Store.
We have incorporated cocos2d into many of our titles, some of which are almost entirely cocos2d based. I appreciate the great quality in using the platform and see if as the best way to produce many of our upcoming projects.
With that said, we have begun getting a great deal of incoming projects from clients that have stretched our ability to complete the work on our own as there are only 24 hours in every day and too much work! We are looking to pick up several developers or a team of developers with extensive cocos2d experience on a work-for-hire basis. Project payments would be made on a milestone basis up front, when in progress (possible multiple payments), and at final delivery of source code and resources.
Strong English Communication Skills
1-2 years minimum cocos2d experience.
Chipmunk or Box2d experience
Particle / Water physics experience
Highly graphic design proficient (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Efficiency and Stability oriented (i.e. always thinking ahead using sprite sheets, compressed audio, common framework structure where possible, etc.)
Previous work available for download in app store with generally positive reviews.
Strong sprite animation skills
In app purchase integration
Push Notification Integration
Flurry Analytics Integration
Skype and/or Phone Communication along with Regular email communication through Basecamp.
Additional Preferred Abilities:
Understanding of cocos2d-x and porting projects to Android
Smooth integration of cocos2d with standard UIKit elements
Experience with multiple gameplay styles such as side scroller, tile based, single screen, etc.
Gamecenter experience including turn-based multiplayer, leader boards, and achievements
CoreData and Database handling
A strong history on this forum.
Development progress tracking experience with web services such as Pivotal Tracker, Bug Tracker, JIRA, etc.
Also big, a good attitude, a creative mind, and drive to make FUN games. Great attention to detail is a top priority.
We have two projects with 2-3 months of full or part time work currently ready to start in January/February with many more on the way if you do good work. Both projects are completely 2D but may have 3D looking sprite objects to a give "3D" feel. They will also have a mix of cartoony/photo realistic elements. If necessary, we will hire separate cartoonists/artists for art design.
Applicants must be able to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements. Work will be contract based with either a set fee or hourly rate. Fee and rate would be based on past experience and would coincide with standard market rates. Incentive payments may be available based upon meeting milestones ahead of schedule, going above and beyond, etc.
