Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
Hi Developers,
I'm looking for some help here, and I really hope one of you can help me.
What I want to make:
I wanna make an App that displays a label, this label will change the label.text according to the current date. (Example below). This means that the label will cange its text every single day.
Example:
(I have tried to make some code in "human language")
if (currentDate == @"30-Aug") {
label.text = @"Hey, its Aug. 30"
} if (currentDate == @"31-Aug") {
label.text = @"What! It's friday"
}
I hope you understand my example, and can help me with this tutorial.
Thanks

NSDate *today = [NSDate date];
int random = arc4random() % 3;
switch (random) {
case 0:
[dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"MMM dd"];
NSString *formattedDate = [dateFormatter stringFromDate:today];
NSLog(@"Hey, it's %@", formattedDate);
break;
case 1:
[dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"EEEE"];
formattedDate = [dateFormatter stringFromDate:today];
NSLog(@"What! It's %@", formattedDate);
break;
case 2:
[dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"dd"];
formattedDate = [dateFormatter stringFromDate:today];
NSLog(@"Today is lucky number %@", formattedDate);
break;
}
You can add as many cases as you want. Like baja said, checkout the NSDate class reference to see how to use other formats.
