Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
open your projects info.plist file and add an entry for "Icon already includes gloss and bevel effects" it will give a checkbox for the value. By checking the check mark the gloss will not be displayed on your apps icon.
if your info.plist has it checked off then it should work for both small app icon and also on itunes. Not really anything you can do about the one on itunes other than try to contact them about it. It may be a glitch in their system.
Hi, looks like JPG trick doesn't work for 2-3 weeks now, icons still have Glossy effects on them. BUT, I saw new games in AppStore without Glossy addition, how they handle that now?

Eh, I'd like to know about this too... JPEG, PNG or TIFF ??
The 512x512 (iTunesArtwork - App Store icon) is a different case than the app icon (57x57). The first one gets no effects added to it. What you do will be what you see. The app icon should be designed plain and rectangular. The effects like gloss and rounded corners are added automatically. There's nothing you can do about the rounded corners and the drop shadow, but if you want to exclude the gloss, you can add the "Icon already includes gloss effects" to your info.plist. iOS will assume you added it so it wont add it.

0 · Off Topic Insightful Disagree Dislike Like AwesomeThe problem I have is that when browsing iTunes on a desktop computer the Large Icon appears to have Gloss put on it.
I've noticed that a lot of apps don't have this in iTunes and I would like to take it off.
Do I need to round the corners of my own image? Would Apple then approve it without Gloss?
Just seems strange.

0 · Off Topic Insightful Disagree Dislike Like AwesomeI definitely have the correct information in my plist as the Icon looks fine (no Gloss) when the app is installed.
I may try sending them an email. I do like everything to be just right. :)

0 · Off Topic Insightful Disagree Dislike Like AwesomeI reuploaded the App Store Icon as 512 x 512 @ 72 dpi (Jpeg).
Was originally 512 x 512 @ 300 dpi (tiff).
Hope this helps others.
Cheers

Ok. So your icon appears "no gloss" on iTunes? What did you upload? JPEG, TIFF, PNG?
