Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
Xcode doesn't show iphone project template applications
So I am brand new to this Iphone programming thing and I've already run into a big snag. When I go to Xcode and start a new project there are no iphone project templates where the new project templates are. I've attached a picture of what mine looks like.
I loaded the Iphone sdk for iphone os 2.1.
I've attached a picture of what my screen looks like.
Is there something I didn't load in the startup or something I'm doing wrong?
yeah, the mac never previously had xcode on it. It is a little funny though that the starting page in xcode has a link to download the free iphone sdk?
Anyways I downloaded the file named iphone sdk for os 2.1 and just loaded that and it loaded xcode and everything else. I downloaded it straight from the apple iphone developers website also. That is why this is so confusing and it doesn't seem like anyone has run into this problem before. I've searched everywhere!!!
I previously had the very original Iphone SDK and I'm guessing that just didn't have this category.
I just deleted the developer folder in my hard drive and then loaded the new SDK. Maybe the computer is saving how the templates come to be from the old version?
When I'm in Xcode and I go to About though it says I'm using 3.1.1 ...... Very Weird and very discouraging for a new programmer...

What kind of Mac are you using? You need an Intel Mac to be able to develop for the iPhone. If you are using a PowerPC Mac such as a G4 or G5, then the xcode templates for iPhone will not show because they are not installed.
hello there. i've got the same problem and i have reinstalled the sdk many times and still the same. i'm using a macbook pro with mac os x 10.5.6. please advise i really want to use this program.
