Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.

help! image call inplace of color square

Currently i am developing a game and have a call that produces a colored square with a number in the middle, i am trying to replace the square with an image i created but it is not working properly it simply errors out. The current line of code is:

combo1Label.backgroundColor = [UIColor yellowColor];

I tried using the image call with this code:

combo1Label setImage:[UIImage @"Shiny" ofType:@"png"];

my variable declare is as follows:

UILabel *combo1Label = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(firstButton.frame.origin.x, firstButton.frame.origin.y, firstButton.frame.size.width, firstButton.frame.size.height)];

any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you.:confused:

    I would simplify your problem. Use UILabels for text only.

    If you wanted a colored square or image with a number on it, do this:

    1. Create a UIImage, load it with your image, and load it into its own UIImageView.
    2. Create a UILabel, set its text to your number, and set its background color to transparent.
    3. Add the UILabel to the UIImageView as a subview.
