Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.

I'm building an app that allows you to scan a VIN number barcode or enter Year/Make/Model and get back information about your car, preferably warranty information and/or service information (when to check brakes, change oil, etc). I have the vin barcode scanning working, but I'm struggling to find the data I need.
Does anybody know of/have experience with an API or database I could use for this? I've been having trouble finding a free resource. Can anybody provide a recommendation for a reasonably priced service?

My day job is in the automotive industry, and in my experience, you're not going to find a free resource for warranty & maintenance schedules. We use VIN data from DataOne... prices are great and I've never had a problem with their web service.
There are a number of companies that sell automotive data that you can check out. The major players are DataOne, JATO and Polk.

Hi, chrome has probably got the best vin decode database as they also now bought the Canadian vin database company and have expanded greatly. If you can, I would like to get some help getting the vin barcode scanning working for basic decode information. Please let me know if you can share with me the sdk you are using for that. I appreciate any help you can offer.
