Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.

Sorry for the newbie question....

Just now getting information on developing my own iPhone (and eventually Android) apps. This brings a couple of questions from me.

1. Will downloading X Code 4 be sufficient or what tools do you suggest for developing my apps?

2. When developing for iPhone would you all suggest using a MAC OS machine (I'm thinking yes) or can someone develop from a MS environment?

Sorry if these seem to be stupid questions. I've got 12 years of development experience but virtually all of that is in the .NET world so I'm just now getting my feet wet in the iPhone app world :)

You're probably best posting this in the iPhone forum (this forum is for development of applications for Mac) but to answer your questions:
    1. Will downloading X Code 4 be sufficient or what tools do you suggest for developing my apps?
Yep, Xcode is what you need plus any additional graphics software such as Photoshop.
    2. When developing for iPhone would you all suggest using a MAC OS machine (I'm thinking yes) or can someone develop from a MS environment?
You'll need a Mac, you won't be able to develop for iPhone on a PC.

To get cracking download Xcode and have a play around. I suggest you buy some books on iPhone development as well to understand the basics, there's plenty to choose from on Amazon.
