Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
hi, im feeling really depressed and down now. i dont know what to do anymore to promote my app. i have tried so many thing but none worked.
my app is this. 3 weeks ago i released this app, it got 8 sales for day 1, 6 day 2, and 1 sales each day until day 5 and after that no sales at all. then i released the lite version which got 1.4k download at the first day, 1 week later 30 download per day. i installed iad in the lite version but the revenue is too low to depend on it.
i released press release, nothing happen. i contacted 999 review website, but only 1 gave me a review, other asks me for review fee.
then i paid a video reviewer for video review only after that i found out, at this forum, they said that review site did not deliver sales as like promised. i cant cancel my order, another money spent on the drain.
and now in considering Admob, but after some research at this forum, lot of people said its just wasting money as well. now im out of idea what to do left.
my sales not even reach $30 and iad doesnt give me much revenue. :(
The game screenshot doesn't look bad to me. But it wasn't attractive either. Game is a pretty competitive category. From the 2 reviews, it looks like people have had trouble understanding the game, or didn't think it was good.
Besides marketing have you thought about maybe making the game better? Get some friends or relatives together and let them play. They can tell you what was wrong. Keep working and make a new version. Then lower the price to tier1.
Last but not least, the theme. Have you carefully thought through the idea about the game before starting the development? It appears to me, that anything involving killing "human-looking-characters" won't be a hit, unless of course, it's a carefully crafted war simulation game.
Hi illogical! Welcome to the forum. My heart goes out to you - it's always difficult to have unfulfilled expectations concerning app success. Try not to let it get you down. It's business. Don't take it personally. Make some tweaks to your process and try some more.
Search through this forum - there is a lot of good advice. Since your sales are low and your promotion budget sounds like it is getting close to exhausted, I highly recommend exploring free promotion techniques.
Sometimes, a simple adjustment to your blurb, or icon can make all the difference and those adjustments are free or inexpensive.
Keep your head up. The app business is HARD. Very few app producers make a sustainable income from their apps. Best of luck in your business!

the bad reviews are from the lite version is it? yea, i think they dont understand the game well enough, expected from lite users, they tend to rate without fully understand what an app does. i do get 4-5 stars on the paid version though.
i update my game on a weekly basis, this week will be my 3rd update. i am constantly improving and adding new feature to this game. i take this game to my heart :)
will keep that in mind next time developing game, i wont make killing human game. thanks for the insight.
@yoshkow that is the 2nd time i change the icon. i do change the keyword after each update to see which one is the best keyword. but its hard to see when everyday your sale is 0 :(
i have run out of idea. but giving up is never crossed my mind. then i think its time i create an account and ask in the forum directly.

I think the icon is good, so are the screenshots and all. But the problem is there is nothing convincing for me to buy this over so many other similar themed games. The game category is extremely competitive and you're gonna need to figure out a way to shine above other fighting games or live with unsubstantial sales. Think about it harder. Is your game the best in your category for it's price? Probably not. Making a good polished app is not enough anymore.
Btw..don't worry about bad user reviews too much. They really don't make much of a difference.
Even if you're not talking to me. I do think it's to much. Just try $0.99 and look at the increase. If it doesn't changes a lot, than just choose if you let it like that for the future when the app gets better or you let if $1.99 but you will than get less sales :)
I've heard of developers increasing to that price level from .99 and actually getting more downloads. The problem isn't your price; it's the enormous competition/high expectations/low demand as of right now.
One thing you could do to give it a little more promotion is to use Game Center. It won't be a miracle cure but if you add some achievements and leaderboards I could see you getting a little boost in sales/downloads.
Make it go free for a while, get some reviews and then convert it back into paid. You are not marketing your App the right way. The screenshots and the description is not good. Price tag is hefty.
iPhone and iPad App Marketing That "Just Works" - AppVersal
You're not alone. There are thousands of apps out there, it's really difficult to cut through the noise, even if you have a great app.
I'm in a similar boat. Released my app to a really niche market and I've had a lot of ups and downs, but I realize it's a long game. Evaluate and analyze your market, is there a niche that would really enjoy your product? If so, find them on Facebook, Twitter, look for a forum that speaks to that niche and create relationships. It'll take some time, but instead of going for the home run, go for a single, or a walk.
I know that's tough to hear, but again, in this environment, unless you have thousands to throw at PR and marketing, you have to do it organically and be resourceful and smart.
