Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
Best method to get the attention of an app review site?
Ok so I've been creating a lot of threads haha but I don't know any other helpful forum. Anyways, how can I get the attention of the big app review sites with a game that isn't considered hot? I've got a casual card game whose competitors have already gotten attention, ratings, and reviews so the app I am promoting is basically ignored and I get replies like "we will consider your application. Our reviews/editors pick applications that they think users will be most interested in." I'm trying to get the game's website to the top of the search engine or at least the 1st page on targeted keywords but seems like there are lot of competing sites (mostly app reviews sites and blogs that have existed for a few years and have articles that cover games in my app's genre but didn't feature my app). So how would I rank high in the search engines if sites choose to ignore me? And I'm on a budget so I'm trying to get free reviews for a free app.
The review sites are getting heaps of review requests every day. Yours needs to stand out. Engage them. Get to know their names as opposed to generic emails like hello@ or info@ etc. A little humour sometimes works. Express that you'll be grateful if they review. Offer them something like promo codes for their readers. Make sure the press release is well written. Video is a huge benefit and there are plenty of tools to get one made on a budget. Good screen sheets (NOT augmented).
