Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
While considering a few options to integrate push notifications into my game, I came across PushWoosh. It seems their offer is almost too good to be true - unlimited number of push notifications to unlimited number of users for FREE (up to 10 apps).

Looks interesting. I wish I had found that when I was looking for one..We ended up building it ourselves (haven't used it much though, keeping it for big news).
The thing is, there are paid and popular services like Urban Spaceship that charge $200 monthly for up to 10k users. That's why I'm asking where is the catch with PushWoosh. They offer (more or less) the same service, for unlimited amount of users for free.
Would love to hear from someone who had experience with them. Cheers

I see, kinda weird. 10k users is definitely not much for $200/month...I don't see any catch at first sight, just a basic account and more stuff with the premium one (multilanguage support is pretty useful). Couldn't find any testimonials on their website.
I have tried them and it seems to work well. They are probably a fairly new company trying to work their way into a nice little niche. Maybe they will charge more over time, but makes sense to build up a large satisfied userbase in the meantime.
@bellissimo - Just what I wanted to hear. In that case, I am definitely gonna use them for my coming update. Using a free 3rd party push notification service, without the hassle of having to build it myself, or spending 2000$/month for a limited user base seems like the right thing to do :)

There is no catch, I can assure you :) We monetize Premium accounts with additional features (and even with those I bet the pricing looks nice). As for regular accounts, we had to put a limit of 10 applications per account and we might limit a number of devices to one million due to a gigantic boost in registrations now, but there will be no limitations for push notifications being sent!
Yep, I saw you now cap the amount of devices to 1M on the free account. That's a shame, since I wanted to implement your PN service in my game, and limiting to 1M devices can be problematic. There is another service called Appoxee.com who doesn't limit the number of devices and also offers geo-location segmentation. I gonna check out their SDK. It appears they offer the better package compared to PushWoosh.

I like parse.com myself. one of the best notification services out there.

I have no specific problems with the number of apps (I have developed 6 of them altogether) nor with the one million number of users, for the time being. What I am not sure about is whether it is possible with the free version to address specific users instead of notifying all users in block. The FAQ seems to exclude it, and that would be a pity.
The problem with parse.com is that it seems to lack a backoffice support, differently of pushwoosh, and it is not at all clear how to automatically send notifications upon certain events happening in a iOS app. In my case I need to notify the selected taxi driver when a user requests its service; I will not be manually sending users announcements, as it seems to be the objective of that service.
I just want to add how easy that is in Parse. You can use the PFInstallation class and add a PFUser-relation to it, and easy send push notifications to one user, one channel, several channels ,or the whole user-base of your application. This can be done from your code, or from the Cloud which they have released.
The big problem with Parse.com is the limited amount of pushes they allow on their free service (1M pushes), while if you wanna go pro, it will cost you $199 a month... Well, I guess there are no free meals :)
