Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.

How do you promote a service/store aimed at developers?

I've found some really useful information here about various promotion techniques for apps, which is great because our team develops apps, too.

However, something else we want to promote is not an app but more of a service/store for developers. In our case it's music and sound loops for apps and games. It's not as straightforward as submitting an app to a review site. We're thinking of sending our press release to the usual places and maybe some agencies (e.g. prMac). But price aside, most of these agencies seem to be geared towards promoting apps, but not towards promoting a service like ours. Any ideas where we could submit our press release/get some buzz?

Also, we've got a twitter account where we follow and try to engage with devs directly, and we're slowly gaining followers. But we're struggling to find people who might be interested in our service on Facebook. How do you find a niche target like ours on Facebook?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Some review sites do post news about services/apps that are targeted at developers, so sending press releases/announcements to news sites should work.

Some app promotion services just spam (via email) all 50k developers who have an app in AppStore.
iSpreadNews.com - VERY CHEAP (from $63) way to send your iPhone/iPad app announcement to hundreds of blog & news sites owners over the globe.

Just remember that there other countries besides US!

    Thanks for the info.

I took a look at your own service and find it interesting, but it seems to be geared towards the app review sites. Do you offer options to send info only to sites that would post news about a service like ours?
