Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
Does your old Xcode have the archive function? If so, you might already have the debug information file, drag the crash dump to the organizer (device logs) then wait a few moments and see where it crashed
Install the latest Xcode to somewhere other…
Oh, sorry guys, I should have been more precise. All rankings refer to the search rankings, nothing else. I believe rankings in categories depends purely on daily no. of downloads (and acceleration of no. of downloads others suggested)
is there a ti…
As I was told when Apple bought Chomp, they were hoping to introduce some advanced search algorithm which would understand the purposes of the apps and deliver better results during search. Currently, it only changed to favor slightly towards the fr…
I tried putting keywords in front of the name, it didn't seem to change the ranking in anyway. However, putting the keyword in the front to let the users discover the function of your app more immediately
I kinda feel that beyond mere app name, key…
games and apps are different. i have a paid app which wouldn't sell particularly better when it is updated. i don't know about free apps and paid/free games
1, some people tend to just hit the update all button. they might not even know they still …
researched a bit about the numbers of resulting apps for given search terms on my iPhone
todo, 2365, most of them free if not all
todo list, 1183, also mostly free
shopping list, 1185, most free
all market leaders in these areas can reach within t…
influx78,
Screenshots look good, except some subtle things (e.g. the last screen of the third app, you used normal UIButtons which do not blend with the background), they are perfect. I didn't read the descriptions but only the screenshots, except …
1k to live comfortably in Bangkok?
Out of curiosity, is it a comfortable amount for a family with kids too?
I live in Hong Kong, sustaining a family with kids comfortably would require at least $4k/month
I will go full indie next month, however, I …
Beware that there is now a new section called "App Review Information". Without filling in that section, the app won't be reviewed. I think this section was added a few days ago. I figured this out because my app hadn't got reviewed for over a week …
I have little problem scrolling past the first 25 search items. When you try to scroll but part of the 26th item isn't even showing, it will then load the list of the next 25 items. Of course, the scrolling experience is extremely bad. They won't fi…
Sometimes, there just aren't many choices, I will just give in. Like getting along with a girlfriend, a wife, a job, etc, there are love and hate, regardless, you've got to accept that
Pretty sure you can still add backwards compatibility and support the iPhone 5 at the same time.
How? I tried putting the 568 splash screen and archiving it with Xcode 4.4 two weeks ago, and it did pass the review. Now, I try the same thing I only…
I started to worry too when I knew Scott Forstall sold 95% of his Apple shares. From the last event, it just seemed some of them weren't happy as if they didn't agree with the release of iPhone 5
I think the new aspect ratio is inevitable. There ar…
I tried using Xcode 4.4 with an update and it is still successful. Xcode 4.5 drops armv6 (ie < iPhone 3GS, < iPod touch 3)
There is a field called "Review Notes (Optional)", not sure if it helps clarifying something for the reviewer
I think all of these is because of Apple trying to meet the release date they set before. I think it is not the latest version but it has to match the version they might have sent before the new phones being manufactured, say a few months ago. Reali…
After re-watching a few times the Scott's section, I think he carried a little bit different emotion than he used to. Then, I found this, http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57425920-37/apple-exec-scott-forstall-sells-off-95-percent-of-his-shares/

Joined just to comment. I have had a good run on the App Store. Two of my educational apps have been featured by Apple and one has been a staff pick. Up until June, I made a steady $5,000 per month on the App Store for over 2 years. This figure may …
checked again on iOS 6, it seems it's fixed
btw, iPhone 5 is going to be announced next week and likely iOS 6 would be bundled. However, given the current state of the iOS 6 beta, I can't believe all the bugs can be fixed in one month or two
producer97,
Thanks for the fantastic insight
Interestingly, you said your app is an ad supported free product, and you switched paid/free a few times, wouldn't those users who really paid your products be angry when they find ads inside? I reckon …
Well, after having some time with the new interface on the iPad, I would say it is a better experience. Now, I know better what the apps do. First things first, this will put the screenshots of the apps in direct comparison. I noticed that now snazz…
One of my worst days
Nothing to do with my ranking as it recovered some days ago. I think that had to do with the economy, that's a report about manufacturing orders. It's not looking good. I knew that when Dow jones opened lower, but only was surp…
I was only making around 1-2k a month last year.. this year its 15k a month... if you know what to do then you know what to do?
So does anyone wana sell their apps to me? xD
Interestingly, I see the apps with different languages, some Chinese and …
If your app is listed in any category in the top 200, you may want to check out http://hourlychart.com/
They are free and update hourly, but require registration (no iTunesConnect account is needed)
Have seen similar results. I mean even paid apps without downloads rank and grossing rank come right over mine which has both download ranks and grossing ranks. I really have no clue. But that at least proves the potential customers of my app's kind…
Leaked WP8 SDK suggests C++ for regular developers. That may attract high end game developers (but may at the same time set the bar very high?). I think only if WP8 becomes a successful portable console (think PSP, NDS) will it be a game changer. Bu…
I have relevant and irrelevant apps with regular ranks and gross ranks below mine for the past 30 days, but they sit firmly above mine. One hell of a mess!!!
It didn't revert back to where it was before Jun 23rd
Result listing is sorted mostly by no. of downloads with no relevance on exact name match and little weight on higher prices. The affected apps are mostly paid apps which are found via search, t…
Just one more speculation, might the popularity of an app also take into account the total no. of downloads of its developer's all apps?
I have seen some competing apps with higher positions in search but less grossing ranks than mine and we priced…
My sales has been dropping for some time. I somehow feel that we are close to a economic downturn
I plan to price drop for the next update. Hopefully the lowered price will lead to more units thus gaining some popularity. I noticed one paid app had…
In my case, apps in the top are either free apps (mostly) or well established paid apps. Free apps at the moment really lacks some serious functions and some of them can be very mediocre. However, even those well established paid apps aren't perfect…
Newbie123;441046 said:This update ruined my sales. Sales have dropped 80-90% for me.
They are putting free apps WAY above paid apps. If you type in the EXACT name of my App, it's on the THIRD page of iPhone search results.
Did this ruin anybody el…
On a second thought, giving no advantage to keywords in title and paid apps (including paid apps with higher prices) just isn't fair
Someone just wants to search your app by name, but it's no where to be found. Take the mentioned "Mobile Monsters" …
Just checked again, irrelevant apps are back
I checked AppAnnie to see the grossing rank of one of my apps, it's out of 1000 but its sales doesn't severely suffer (not like when it hit that position some months ago). I guess that the total app sale…
It seems it's a little bit different. Some irrelevant apps go away, but there are repeating apps in different pages (maybe the cache still hasn't fully propagated)
Is it just me? One page only contains 24 apps instead 25?
