Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
I recently added this functionality to my fitness app. What you can do is setup a free account with MailChimp and integrate their iOS SDK in your project. With just a few lines of code, you will be able to subscribe users to your list.
You will sti…
I would definitely look at AdMob as one of the possible avenues. Especially with a budget like $10K, I would start with a modest $25 a day budget for AdMob create an eye-catching ad but keep the bid low ... for e.g 5 - 10 cents per click.
I have ha…
As mediaspree mentioned, change you app description... make sure the first line reads the good excerpts from the reviews on these big sites.. Also make sure you direct attention to it by adding asterisks on each side and putting these headlines on …
For Sales I use AppAnnie.
For Analytics, I use TestFlight SDK. It works with "Live" apps just as well as "Beta Testing" apps.
Its really easy to integrate into the project and you can set what TestFlight calls, CheckPoints at critical junctures in…
Keep in mind that its not just new devices but also iTunes Gift cards... Gift cards are like free money..people probably spend money on gift cards without thinking twice ( its not "their" money!)... so that is also a huge contributor to the sales ju…
One of my apps was consistently getting 100 downloads a day (until I updated it and now suddenly down to 30 downloads a day) and I was making close to a dollar or a little more per day... so I would say you would make between $4 - $6 a day.
If I am not mistaken, you can change your app description anytime but you can only change your keywords when you upload a new binary... so if you decide to release another update, you should be able to update your keywords.
I read this article a while ago and I had to laugh... I hate to say it but either this couple was totally idiotic or totally naive in their belief that they could just quit their jobs and start making six figures in the App Store...
This may have …
I am about to release my second app ( the first app is doing so-so )..Here's what I think... as with anything in life, you get better with experience ( as they say experience is what you get when you dont get what you were looking for )...
You put …
But also if your app is one that users will spend several minutes using each day and you can get lots of users if it's free. Don't count out the amount of money you can bring it from just having ads in your app (Of course you'd rather they remove th…
I have used this model in my app ( My Fitness Diary )... basically for ) $0.99 you can remove the ads. The whole point is that the ads are obtrusive and take away from the user experience. So if they want a better experience they can upgrade with 0.…
Same here.... working a full time job with six figure salary... Obviously not making enough money on apps just yet..
So I am just playing a bit of devil's advocate here..but here's why I wont quit my full time job anytime soon ...unless my new app …
I suggest you change the model of your app and make it free with an IAP...instead of adding Apppirater.... Obviously, making your app free is showing a surge in downloads.... why dont you add some ads in the free app and let them by upgrade from wi…
What I would suggest is making your app free and put ads in it... and then add an in-app purchase to make it ad free. You want to take out as much resistance from people making the decision whether to download your app or not, as possible.
Think ab…
Punkjumper, a word of caution.... as the old cliche goes... "The grass is always greener on the other side.."....I am a professional developer with a CS Degree and over 14 years of programming in the industry....
Here's my experience... no matter w…
I am in the same boat as you...I have a utility app in the works ( not a game )...The best way to do it is not to target bloggers who write about apps, but target bloggers who blog about the general subject of your app..for example if your app is re…
If your app has an obscure name then you can try a few things ( not sure if they will all work since I havent tried all of them )....
In your app description be sure to mention competing apps that have more search-friendly names... I think Apple's s…
Yup....they should definitely remain in the app store...That's a great idea.. what you can also do it get your friends and family to download the app and review it... I know its not the best way to move forward but like I said.. "You need to salt th…
Here's my 2 cents..... Your Notedown! app is $1.99..with no ratings whatsoever... app users are frugal ( cheap ) and are really resistant to pull the trigger when buying an app..and with a "higher" price point that most apps ( free or $0.99) and NO …
I think the app store is just going to be like the internet in general..... You can easily get lost in the clutter and free will always win over paid ( at least initially )... However, unless we indie developers think of this more like a business th…
That's quite a fair achievement considering it's your first app. Can I see your app?
Sure...in the app store look for My Fitness Diary....( Requires you to have an Evernote.com account..which is free )....
Some of the reasons my app might have seen …
I submitted by very first app this July ( free app with 2 in app purchases )... I have 12K+ downloads so far ( avg. 150 downloads/day ) and make approx $5 a day ( $130 - $150 a month ).... with absolutely no promotion whatsoever..... I think with th…
Its definitely not a bubble as others have pointed out. Still, there are many companies paying way too much to buy successful apps..Facebook buying Instagram and even Zynga buying Draw Something for outrageous amounts; does look like a bubble.
