Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
This reminds me of a story I read where some horrible game with ridiculous in-app purchases of $99 for new characters (or whatever) was actually being using to launder money through the app store. I.E. person A sells illegal drugs(?) to person B over the internet, person b pays person a through in app purchase. person A sends the illegal stuff. crazy stuff!
They need you more that you need them. Sure they could go to another developer but I doubt they will get anything of quality for $5500 + profit share of an unproven app. That being said, you probably are also looking to resume build being right out of school. So for that I would take the money up front with option C with the caveat that future updates/additions (which they will inevitably need) will be done at an hourly rate.
I think about the app store like I think about the recording industry. You have a couple of hit makers who enjoy the spotlight (EA, Zynga, Chillingo, Rovio come to mind) and a whole bunch of "also rans" who get put in the back of the record store in a discount bin probably never to be picked up by consumers. Its designed this way to make the most money from the hits as possible. New comers to the eco system aren't looking for mediaspree or foany's apps they are looking for angry birds and Temple Run. Apple is giving it to them right up front. Consumers are happy, Apple is happy and making tons of cash. Sure they could wander to the back of the record store and find us in the discount bin but why would they, everything they thought they want is right there in front of them.
It has to be the best of the best to get featured by Apple, so if its not there yet its not worth worrying about when you release it. I would take the time to make it the best of the best and it will rise to the top on its own merits in due time. And there is always next christmas to release the sequel when you are at the top of the charts :)
