Please do not post the same thing multiple times. The board software automatically flags certain posts as needing moderator attention. This happens the most often for new users. I'm pretty sure this is made clear at the time you attempt to post. Posting the same thing over and over again just makes that many more posts the moderators have to weed through later. This makes us sad. Don't make us sad. If your post/thread doesn't appear, just wait a while. Don't post it again. If it hasn't shown up by the next day, then you can try again. I normally go through posts in the mornings, and try to check a few times throughout the day, but I'm not here 24/7. There will typically be a significant delay before posts are approved. Just be patient.
I used to have a shared hosting through Host Gator. It was around $10 a month. It could support quite a bit in terms of web services and databases with users. These places normally limit you to 25 concurrent connections to the database. Which even with a popular free app is alot. You have to think that is 25 people actively in the app hitting the database at the exact same time. Even with my free apps that had hundreds of thousands of users I never really had a problem. But alot of my stuff is just inserting, not too much reading from the database where you can really start having concurrent user issues.
To handle traffic I have recently switched to a VPS hosting through inmotion hosting. Its about $500 a year and handles higher loads of traffic alot better.
I think there is alot of options out there for you for a decently low amount on money. It just really depends on how active your app is with the database and how much it uses it.
