The place is just as friendly, but with 1.5 million apps in the store, and indie apps pretty much passe, there's just not that much to discuss these days. Hence the drop in traffic.

I suspect a lot of developers have moved on to other things, due to their inability to make a "good" living from it.

Lol, there is plenty to discuss about app development/marketing/code questions/ideas/tips etc. etc.

Let me break it down for you the way I see it.

    - Friendly and active people getting banned, there is pretty much no difference between contributed members and new members (this was different a couple of years ago).
    - Code questions will be forwarderd to StackOverflow
    - No innovation for the community from the owner (this community could be sow much more).
    - Always blaming on Apple about decrease in downloads, most aren't willing to look further or willing to spend money for marketing.
    - Complain complain complain...

Do I need to continue? Just the way I see it

You're seeing it from a Dutch viewpoint. You live in the Netherlands, a socialist welfare state. The government takes care of your needs, when you cannot make it on your own. I know this from my heavily taxed relatives in Holland and Belgium, not to mention, that this Dutch welfare problem has also been discussed many times in USA news publications. They call it living on the dole.

If you lived in the USA, you would last less than 6 months in the app business, because you'd be forced to get a job, to support your "app" habit.

    Holland supports your hobby.

At one time, you could claim to be an artist in Holland, and have the government buy your paintings, no matter how bad they were, so that you would have a living wage. Doesn't get any easier than that...LOL.

When they ask for a refund I point out they bought the app from Apple not me.
It is like buying some beans at the supermarket and contacting who makes the beans for your money back.

These Apple beans taste like sh*t. Can I get a can of Android beans instead. ;)

  • Re: Drop in downloads for April

Has anyone noticed an increase in downloads?... LOL... ;)
